Description
Our work, whether barehanded or with weapons (jo, bokuto, tanto), is based on the main styles of aikido and focuses on short movements as well as on the practical, efficient and realistic side of the techniques. Atemis (strikes) and principles of other martial arts such as karate, ju-jitsu, systema, kenjutsu are integrated into this work.
Aikido is a Japanese martial art founded by Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969) from his experience in teaching koryu (ancient martial arts schools), mainly ju-jitsu of the Daito ryu school, kenjutsu (Japanese sword art) and aikijutsu.
It was born from the meeting of ancient combat techniques and the founder's reflection on the meaning of martial practice in the modern era.
Aikido can be practiced by anyone regardless of their level of experience. The goal of the practice is to improve oneself, to progress technically, physically and mentally.
The "Musubi Kobudo" section will develop more widely the work with weapons under different aspects.

Aikido and Kobudo classes are given at the same time (2 different groups).

- Kimono (training and t-shirt accepted for first training sessions)

Sports fair on Saturday September 27, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (Campus Universitaire, Amphithéâtres de l'Europe, Quartier Agora, Boulevard de Colonster 13, Bâtiment B4, parking lot A): information on all sports, section stands, registration, etc. ULiège student champions 2023-2024 will be honored

Registration and payment
- Once you've created your account on the MonClub application, choose the "Aïkido" sports package.
NB: Membership packages include the ULiège sports membership fee and an additional fee where applicable. If you choose several sports formulas (including several martial arts - except fencing), you will only pay one ULiège sports membership and one "martial arts" subscription (the amount to be paid will be automatically adapted). - Proceed to payment from the application. NB: if you have already paid the "martial arts" subscription, the amount displayed will be 0 €. Please complete the procedure and "validate" payment.
