Caving
From modest Belgian classics to training courses and explorations abroad, the caving section will help you discover the many facets of the underground world and caving: physical effort, endurance, flexibility, technical skills, communion with nature, knowledge of the environment and group life.
Description
We offer :
- An introductory course for beginners
- Regular activities (min. 2 times a month + possibility of activities on other W.E.) and technical training during the week (2 times a month).
- Training courses in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Spain, etc.
- Canyoning courses for all levels on request
- Participation in Federation (U.B.S.) activities and courses in Belgium and abroad.
- Preparation for federal and ADEPS certificates

Location & schedule
Information days :
- Salon des sports on Saturday September 27, 2025 from 9.30am to 12.30pm (Campus Universitaire, Amphithéâtres de l'Europe, Quartier Agora, Boulevard de Colonster 13, Bâtiment B4, parking A): information on all sports, section stands, registration, ..
- Sunday 05.10.25 at the Grotte Sainte-Anne in Tilff: free tour of the underground environment.
Places and times vary throughout the year according to our activities.
Introductory caving course
- Weekend of 18 and 19.10.25: after a visit to a horizontal cave and an introduction to rock climbing, you'll work with us in a vertical cave using caving rope techniques. Detailed information and registration form at https://rcae-speleo.be/stage-dinitiation/
- Cost of course: €60 including transport, food, hut hire and equipment depreciation; payment instructions received after completion of registration form.
- Registration up to and including 10.10.25 with Olivier Stassart (instructor).
Canyoning discovery and practice courses
- These courses, organized in the Jura, the Southern Alps or the Pyrenees, are designed for beginners and experts alike. Contact Gil Hubrecht (instructor).
Activities (for beginners, advanced, Section members) :
- Regular activities (min. 2 times a month + possibility of activities on other WE) and technical training during the week (2 evenings a month).
- Training courses in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Spain, etc
- Participation in Federation (U.B.S.) activities and courses in Belgium and abroad; preparation for federal and A.D.E.P.S. diplomas.
Equipment
Personal equipment :
- Old jeans and sweater or overalls
- High-top shoes
- Towels
- 4 x 1.5V AA batteries
- Full set of spare clothes
- Snacks
Provided by the section:
- Helmet and electric light
- Individual and collective technical equipment
Cost
1.Registration requiredto be paid to ULiège sports
2. Section registration: €40 payable to ULiège sports
3. Federation (U.B.S) registration : from mid-December, information available from the Section
- Under-26s: €32
- 26 and over: €40
- Optional insurance: €25
4. Participation in travel and accommodation expenses
Medical certificate required: information from instructors
Please note: for minors, parental authorization to be completed by parents via the "MonClub" application
Registration and payment
- After creating your profile on the MonClub application, choose the "Speleology" sports package.
NB: Membership packages include the ULiège sports membership fee and an additional contribution where applicable. If you choose more than one sports package, you will pay onlyone ULiège sports membership fee (the membership fee will be automatically deducted at the time of payment). - Proceed to payment from the application.
You can add a complementary package at any time via the application.
