Long-distance hiking
Looking for outdoor sports? Do you love nature and walking, in a friendly group atmosphere? Then the Grandes randonnées section is for you! Walking is a sporting activity accessible to everyone, whatever the weather, and all ages are represented in our section.
Detailed activities
All year round without interruption
We propose :
- On average, 3 Sundays per month, we propose full day hikes of a little more than 20 km, in various places: in the Ardennes, in the Herve country, in the Condroz, in the Eiffel,...
- One or 2 Thursday afternoons a month: a shorter walk, 10 to 12 km, in the Liège area.
- Several times a year, weekends or stays in more distant regions such as the valley of the Semois, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the north of France, Brittany, Alsace, the German Mosel, the Alps,..

Official resumption of activities
Our calendar is uninterrupted: activities are planned throughout the year, including July, August and September. However, the welcome ride organized on the first Sunday of October marks the official start of the season.
Current conditions
- Mandatory registration with the person in charge (Mr. Christian Lallemand) for each walk.
- Drinks after the hike: according to the possibilities.
- ULiège sports membership/registration is compulsory. Please give your membership number (see card inthe MonClub application) to the section manager (Mr Christian Lallemand).
NB: carpooling is not guaranteed, it depends on the cars available.

The program can be adapted at any time: the definitive information is that sent by e-mail.
Equipment
- For a hike, you'll need a rucksack, good walking shoes, spare shoes (out of respect for the vehicles), a picnic and drinks, as well as, depending on the weather, rain gear, sun cream, etc. You may also wish to bring walking sticks to help with some of the more difficult sections.
A hiker respects the environment and takes all waste with him, including fruit peelings (bananas, oranges, etc.)
Cost
- Registration required
- A contribution to expenses: a few euros will be requested (variable according to distance) for each hike in the event of travel expenses in the case of car-pooling. Please bring something to pay for a drink if we're having a picnic in a café, as well as for a drink after the hike and before returning to Liège.
Please note: for minors, parental authorization to be completed by parents via the MonClub application
ULiège sports account - Grandes randonnées
To make your payments for special activities (weekends and others), the section's account number (opened in the name "ULiège sports - Grandes randonnées") is as follows: BE09 7320 6824 9857.
Registration and payment
- After creating your profile in the MonClub application, choose the "Grandes randonnées" sports package.
Even if you have already paid your membership fee for another discipline, you must choose the "Grandes randonnées" option (displayed at €0).
NB: Membership packages include the price of ULiège sports membership and a supplementary fee where applicable. If you choose several sports packages, you will only payone ULiège sports membership fee (the membership fee will be automatically deducted at the time of payment). - Proceed to payment from the application.
You can add a complementary formula at any time via the application.
